New Delhi, Delhi, 17th October 2024: The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has unveiled the ‘Digital India Innovation Zone’ at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024. This initiative aims to provide delegates with an immersive experience of India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPIs), showcasing the nation’s strides in digital governance and technological innovation.
Inauguration by the Prime Minister
The 8th edition of the India Mobile Congress was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam during the International Telecommunication Union – World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) 2024. The eSanjeevani booth features a teleconsultation center, demonstrating how India’s National Telemedicine Service is bridging healthcare gaps in rural and urban areas. The “Mann Ki Baat” booth offers delegates the opportunity to listen to episodes of the popular radio program in their regional languages, fostering a sense of inclusivity and cultural connection.
Technological Innovations
NIXI’s booth emphasizes the significance of the .भारत domain and the necessity for a multilingual internet, allowing delegates to register their own domains. C-DAC showcases advancements in 5G technology, including the IOS-5GN project, which focuses on developing an industry-grade open-source 5G platform.
SAMEER presents next-generation communication technologies, including applications in atmospheric science, healthcare, and 6G communications. Their exhibits aim to educate attendees on the critical features of these technologies.
The India Mobile Congress 2024
The India Mobile Congress 2024 is a landmark event that showcases India’s innovation ecosystem. With over 400 exhibitors, 900 startups, and participation from more than 120 countries, the congress aims to highlight advancements in various fields, including Quantum technology, Circular Economy, 5G use cases, Cloud & Edge computing, and Cybersecurity.
