Celebrating its Foundation Day, Kumar reflected on the remarkable journey of this Miniratna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) since its establishment in 1978, emphasizing its strategic alignment with the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Since its inception, TCIL has carved a niche for itself in the telecommunications sector, executing projects in over 70 countries. The company’s commitment to quality and innovation has enabled it to establish a strong presence in various international markets, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Mauritius, and Nepal. Moreover, TCIL is actively involved in the pan-Africa e-Vidya Bharti and Arogya Bharti Network project, which spans more than 15 African nations.
Kumar highlighted the company’s impressive financial performance, noting that TCIL has paid a cumulative dividend of ₹4,055.69 crore to the Indian government. Surajit Mandol, Director (Finance) at TCIL, reported that the company achieved an operating revenue of ₹2,557.94 crore in FY24, exceeding the targets set by the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE).
