This year, the Dubai government pavilion, led by Digital Dubai, is set to be a hub of innovation, featuring over 45 government and private entities that will unveil their latest products and solutions across various sectors. With a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) as a cornerstone of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), the pavilion promises to be an exciting glimpse into the future of technology in Dubai.

A Focus on Artificial Intelligence

As the world increasingly turns its attention to AI, Gitex Global 2024 has dedicated a specific area to showcase Dubai’s significant achievements and future trends in this transformative field. The pavilion will present a range of cutting-edge digital solutions and AI-powered technologies tailored for government partners, private sector companies, and a diverse audience that includes citizens, residents, and visitors of Dubai and the UAE.

H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, director general of Digital Dubai, emphasized the pavilion’s role in providing visitors with valuable experiences that reflect a promising future for a city recognized as a global model of innovation. "As in every year, the Dubai government pavilion at Gitex promises its visitors useful experiences that give a good indication of a brighter future for a city that has now become an inspiring global model, a digital capital, and an example of a culture of innovation and future-making," he stated.

Digital Dubai’s Strategy: Seven Pillars of Progress

Digital Dubai is not just showcasing innovations; it is also outlining its comprehensive strategy, which consists of seven key pillars. Among these are Digital City, Data & Statistics, Cybersecurity, and Digital Competitiveness. The overarching goal of this strategy is ambitious: to contribute approximately AED 100 billion to the digital economy, enhance digital safety to 90%, and elevate Dubai’s ranking among the top three cities in the United Nations e-Government Index.

Furthermore, Digital Dubai aims to develop 50 high-impact digital experiences that are seamless, connected, proactive, and predictive. A significant aspect of this strategy is to position Dubai among the top five global cities attractive to digital talents, showcasing a range of projects that highlight the city’s commitment to fostering a robust digital ecosystem.

Strategic Partnerships: A Collaborative Effort

The Dubai government pavilion at Gitex Global 2024 will feature a notable presence of strategic partners from both the public and private sectors. e& serves as the Platinum Partner, while Emirates Auction holds the distinguished Gold+ Partner status. Other Gold Partners include the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, Dubai Airports, and Moro, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA. Silver Partners such as the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, UXE Security Solutions, Network International, and Dell Technologies further enhance the collaborative spirit of this event.

Innovative Initiatives by Digital Dubai

Among the key initiatives launched by Digital Dubai is Digita, an educational knowledge program available on digital channels. This program covers various topics, including digital transformation, data, services, and digital experiences. As part of this initiative, the pavilion will host the Digita Podcast, featuring selected speakers and experts who will share insights to promote a culture of digital transformation and innovation in Dubai.

Another highlight is the Dubai Monitor project, which utilizes AI to collect and process data, detecting and predicting anomalies or unusual changes. This project aims to link data anomalies with local and global events, identifying potential causes for these changes through advanced AI models.

The pavilion will also showcase the Dubai Data and AI Platform, a gateway to the city’s official data and statistics, and the Dubai Dashboard, a real-time dashboard providing a comprehensive overview of city indicators to facilitate data-driven decision-making across various sectors.

Government Initiatives: Enhancing Public Services

Digital Dubai will also spotlight the UAE Pass, which has seen over 300 entities providing services through this digital identity platform. With more than 14,000 services available and a total of nine million registered users, the UAE Pass exemplifies the government’s commitment to enhancing digital accessibility.

Additionally, the Dubai Now app offers users access to over 280 government and private sector services from more than 45 entities, covering a wide range of sectors, including transportation, health, education, and housing. The app also provides specialized services for Emiratis, such as social benefits and housing grants.

Another innovative solution on display is the Smart Employee application, which integrates over 35 systems and 200 services, streamlining HR processes for 76 government entities and their employees. This application offers a user-friendly interface for managing various employee services, from leave applications to colleague communications.
